My name is Donát Kuti, and I hold a Master’s degree in Organ Performance and studied piano as well.
My name is Donát Kuti, and I hold a Master’s degree in Organ Performance and studied piano as well. I am currently working as a composer on a range of projects, with a strong passion for creating music for film, short film and other audiovisual media. While pursuing my education in music, I was able to immerse myself in classical repertoire along with different musical traditions. I now apply this foundation as a composer, using my background in organ performance and improvisation to create an original, and expressive sound. As a film composer, I have contributed to various projects, including Bear Country (an animated short film), Perlin (a narrated fairy tale without visuals), both created in collaboration with the dutch team, Berkveldt. Additionally, I have experience in writing music for advertising. In each work, my priority has been to capture emotion, atmosphere, and character through music. I aim to combine classical influences with contemporary scoring techniques to create distinctive, memorable soundscapes.
Perlin is a collaborative audiovisual project created with the team Berkveldt - a fairy tale–style narrative told entirely through sound. I composed the music, created all sound effects, and handled the full audio production process, including recording, mixing, and mastering. The result is an immersive storytelling experience that brings the world of the narration to life without any visuals. Perlin was presented at Kunstpodium T in the Netherlands.
Bear Country is a 10-minute animated short film that I scored, focusing on the creative and technical potential of the organ in narrative storytelling. I composed an original score that blends the instrument’s traditional character with modern cinematic techniques, using its unique sound to enhance emotion, atmosphere, and pacing across the film’s scenes. This project demonstrates my ability to craft expressive, story-driven music that deepens the visual and emotional impact of animation.
