I am María J.Cisneros, an illustrator and historian with over 15 years of experience in education and cultural outreach. Born in Granada but with a Scottish soul, I have worked in museums, art centers, and as a heritage educator at the Alhambra of Granada—a UNESCO World Heritage site—designing workshops and educational materials for audiences of all ages. Engaging with children’s perspectives has enriched me both personally and professionally. Since 2014, I have been nurturing my passion for illustration by constantly drawing and investing in my artistic growth. My first opportunity as a children's book illustrator came in 2023 through the University of Granada, and I have recently published my second illustrated book with Baker Street. I primarily work digitally but enjoy freehand drawing, focusing on the intersection of illustration, heritage, and education, and I am eager to explore new worlds with my brushes.
