Leslie Askew is the founder of Askew Pictures, a documentary and television production company dedicated to compassionate storytelling. Since founding Askew Pictures in 2011, Leslie has brought over 20 years of experience in television and documentary production across the U.S., Europe, and Australia.
She has worked on the award-winning documentary series CNN Heroes and with major networks including ITV (UK), SBS (Australia), Channel Nine (Australia), National Geographic, Al Jazeera, CBS, BET, PBS, and the History Channel.
As an independent filmmaker, Leslie produced, filmed, and edited Analog Man (2019), which won Best Documentary at the ARFF International Film Festival in Berlin. In 2021, she developed and Executive Produced the six-part travel series Trail Towns for SBS Australia. Most recently, her production Pignorant, which follows animal rights activist Joey Carbstrong as he goes undercover to expose the UK pork industry, was released on Amazon Prime.
Leslie is also an experienced podcast producer, having produced Trail Towns: The Podcast from end to end as well as Business (S)tories, a podcast spotlighting women in entrepreneurship and leadership.
