SKULL.WATCH is an independent mechanical watch project currently in development, conceived as the translation of the ancient Memento Mori maxim — “remember that you must die” — into a contemporary object.
Rather than using the skull as a decorative motif, I wanted it to become the structural language of the watch: a physical reminder of the passing of time and, ultimately, of the value of the time we have.
I am developing the project from the initial concept through watch design, case and dial architecture, 3D development, colour and material exploration, prototyping and visual communication.
Built around an automatic mechanical movement, SKULL.WATCH brings together traditional watchmaking, symbolic storytelling and contemporary product design.
The project is currently evolving, and I am documenting its development as it happens — including the design process, prototypes, experiments, decisions and visual storytelling behind the watch.
It also serves as a testing ground for my broader design practice, combining traditional product development with new visualisation tools, AI-assisted content creation and brand storytelling.
