The first presentation focuses on the illustrated cover artwork and composition, while the second shows how the artwork comes together as a finished book cover through a realistic mockup.
I pay close attention to character expression, composition, color, atmosphere, and visual storytelling so the cover feels inviting and immediately communicates the world inside the story.

Behind the Scenes: Building a Children’s Book Illustration
This is one of the in-between stages where the illustration starts to take shape.
I begin with a detailed sketch, then introduce the first layer of paint while keeping parts of the original drawing visible. At this point, I’m mainly focused on developing the composition, colors, atmosphere, and characters before refining the smaller details.
It’s still far from the finished artwork, but this stage is where the personality of the scene begins to emerge.
