Former Air Force pilot turned screenwriter. Lynelle White’s television writing credits include BLACK LIGHTNING, ARMY WIVES, and Z-NATION. Her own personal journey was an unlikely one. She was that nerdy, introverted kid who watched way too much Star Trek and Star Wars, got inspired and then grew up to be an Air Force pilot. She flew countless missions in support of combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Being one of only four Black woman pilots in the Air Force during her career, Lynelle's storytelling focuses on characters who embark upon the unlikeliest of journeys just as she did. She enjoys blending genres and finding a way to put a twist on a familiar story that reflects her POV as a geeky, rhythmically challenged Black woman who never fits into predetermined molds. Shortly after her military career ended, Lynelle graduated from UCLA’s MFA in Screenwriting program, was a NAACP/NBC Universal Television Fellow as well as a Film Independent Episodic Lab Fellow. She is currently pitching a heartwarming one-hour drama series about the resilience of a found family of Veterans connected through a VFW post. Her hobbies include obsessing about tennis, travelling, drone photography, learning Spanish and playing Nintendo videogames.
