Onno Varekamp – Freelance Editor & Post-Production Specialist With a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail, I taught myself the craft of video editing in 2003. My career began with freelance documentaries and work for television stations such as RTL5, after which I spent four years at Metropolisfilm Utrecht honing my skills in editing and After Effects. Clients included Audi, Volkswagen, and the Museum for Sound and Vision. I then worked as a freelancer for various post-production houses in Amsterdam before becoming a partner at Wenneker.Amsterdam. At Wenneker.Amsterdam, I was the lead editor and colorist, overseeing the entire post-production department. I was responsible for all aspects of post-production, including editing, color grading, motion graphics, 3D animation, audio post-processing, and full technical support. I built and managed a team of in-house and freelance post-production specialists, elevating the department to an international top level. We worked for leading brands such as Philips, ABN AMRO, ING, Ahold, KLM, Schiphol, Eurostar, Coca-Cola, Mentos, the Dutch Ministry of Defense, Intertoys, McDonald’s, and Bilderberg Hotels. In collaboration with renowned international advertising agencies, we produced high-quality content for television, online platforms, and commercial campaigns. After taking a sabbatical, I returned to film production, where I now independently create complete films—from directing and cinematography to editing and post-production. In addition, I am available for freelance editing projects. Since 2019, I have combined my work in film with my passion for yoga and meditation—not only as a teacher and trainer but also by creating films on these subjects.
