The Challenge
In shared accommodation platforms, users often have to make decisions with incomplete or uncertain information. They aren’t just evaluating a physical space, but also host credibility and co-living dynamics. This uncertainty leads to high cognitive load, hesitation at key decision points, and ultimately, booking drop-offs.
Strategic Execution
Instead of focusing purely on visual interface updates, I reframed the experience around behavioral design and progressive trust-building:
Behavioral Analysis: Mapped the user flow (search → evaluate → book) to identify exact moments where friction and hesitation peaked.
Progressive Decision-Making: Structured the information architecture so users build confidence gradually across three stages: Discovery, Evaluation, and Decision, rather than being overwhelmed with signals all at once.
Information Scannability: Prioritized and surfaced clear trust signals (like verified reviews and host context) to support quick comparison and reduce the effort required to interpret credibility.
