Mantra is a graduate of Doc Nomads, a 2-year master’s degree in documentary filmmaking between Lisbon, Budapest and Brussels (2021 - 2023). Alongside their filmmaking, Mantra works as a cinematographer/videographer, photographer and editor and is deeply embedded in Brussel's cultural and nightlife scene. Their films explore the body as a site of social and political violence; it’s sexuality, plasticity, and material presence, and how it gradually unravels beneath society’s illusions. They are driven by collaborative initiatives, and want to build projects with communities who share a vision for the future. Their last film, Et Moi, Je Revis, has been selected for its World Premiere at Hot Docs 2024, its Asian Premiere at IDSFFK, European Premiere at the Tirana Film Festival and won the Special Jury Prize at the Mumbai Film Festival. They are currently developing a feature-length hybrid documentary based in South Asia with the support of SIC.
