I'm Mar, a fashion designer, based in Barcelona. I design fashion that is made to be worn and, above all, made to sell. I create collections where creativity and commercial strategy go hand in hand, because a great idea only matters when it connects with the customer. At 18, I left Sant Carles de la Ràpita to study at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, where I developed my creative vision. Later, working in the luxury fashion industry, I realised that a collection doesn't end when it's designed—it begins when it reaches the shop floor. That's where I learned what customers are looking for, what makes them choose one garment over another, and what turns a collection into a commercial success. Today, that balance between creativity and business insight defines the way I work. Over the years, I have designed for a range of fashion brands, specialising in swimwear, beachwear, woven and knit ready-to-wear, and homewear. This experience allows me to understand both the creative and technical requirements of each product category. I also know the industry from the inside. As the founder of Luau Studio, my own occasionwear brand, I understand what it takes to build a fashion label from the ground up, create a strong identity, and develop collections that resonate with the market. Fabric is at the heart of my creative process. I pay close attention to its drape, texture and quality. The moment I touch a fabric, I begin to visualise the garment, translating that instinct into collections that are cohesive, commercially relevant and true to each brand's identity. I work with brands in two ways: I develop collections from concept to production, managing every stage of the creative and technical process—from research, concept development, fabric and colour selection, design, technical packs and fittings, to production-ready collections. I also offer design consultancy for brands looking for an external, strategic and up-to-date perspective. Whether they are launching their first collection or have an established in-house team, I help them refine their product, stay ahead of trends, and create stronger collections through practical, commercially driven solutions.
