Mattia

Mattia Bonavolontà is an Italian industrial designer and creative director based in Phuket, Thailand, where he serves as Chief Design Officer of the Furniture Department at M2 Plus (Punyisa Home Co., Ltd.). His work bridges Italian design sensibility and Thai craftsmanship, blending contemporary aesthetics with traditional materials and sustainable production methods.

Graduated in Industrial Design from IED Rome, Mattia began his career in product innovation at Holey, a medical startup in Rome, where he led the design of 3D-scanning devices and oversaw the user interface and experience development. Since relocating to Thailand, he has expanded his practice to include furniture and craft design, education, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Through initiatives such as Suntree Atelier and the Thai Puan Creative Hub, Mattia promotes creative exchange between Europe and Southeast Asia, developing projects that merge design, technology, and heritage. His work has been showcased at events including Craft Bangkok, Jumble Fair Tokyo, and Asia Fashion Spotlight Hong Kong, reflecting his commitment to a design philosophy rooted in dialogue, authenticity, and timeless craftsmanship.
