About
I am Mateo Mokarzel, a historian and educator who lives for cultural history in music, film, and on stage. Beyond my work in the classroom as a Professor of History, I am an a filmmaker, writer, and music composer and producer dedicated to projects that blend history and melody.
From contributing to Dear White People to collaborating with regional theaters, I use my academic background to advise on cultural awareness and historical accuracy. I also utilize my stage and music production experience to help filmmakers find the perfect soundtrack for their projects through specialized music curation.
