I have advanced skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva and am willing to learn new programs. I have proficient time management skills, and in the past, I have been able to work at an internship and complete my school assignments at the same time. At Adelphi, I had done Graphic Design work for the university’s Bridges to Adelphi newsletter, which included typography, layout, image editing, branding specific to the university, and custom digitally drawn imagery. I have also done an internship at the Performing Arts Center on campus, which includes making flyers for productions and promotional posts on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). Besides my work on campus, I was selected for the Jaggar Community Fellows Program, which granted me an internship at the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association. There, I created promotional flyers, designed and formatted a poetry book, and created a custom animation for their digital media library. The book will be published this year and will be available to purchase at the museum. I have also interned at I’RAISE Boys and Girls, where I have designed several flyers and worked closely with the design team on different sections of their brand style guide. My most recent internship is for the Steven Spectrum Career Project where I have designed posts for their social media platforms and live events while being in touch with the marketing team, in order to jumpstart their charity. I am still an active volunteer there. These internships, plus my other graphic design experiences have helped me to hone my skills. I have created logos for local businesses while completing my course-work for my major. I can comfortably say I am capable of multitasking and working on multiple assignments at once.
