Hello, I'm max. Thanks for visiting my Twine profile. I'm a sound designer, radio producer and podcaster born in Calgary, AB, Canada. My background in campus and community radio gives me a unique perspective on storytelling. Right now, I'm using that perspective to make compelling, high-production-value podcasts for brands, newsrooms, and creative firms. In the nine years I've been in the radio industry, the projects I've worked on have received nods from the Ambie Awards, the Webby Awards, the Signal Awards, the iHeart Radio Awards, and more. I take a keen interest in recounting niche stories in digestable pieces. My reporting on alternative queer culture has won accolades on the national level, and my work has been written about in the New York Times, The New Yorker, Vulture, IndieWire, Psychology Today, SAD Magazine, The Vancouver Sun, and other local publications. When I'm not too busy designing soundscapes or writing scripts, I'm teaching other people about how to make great audio. I've presented to students at the University of Victoria, I've guest-hosted a workshop with Vancouver's Bad Academy, and I've instructed a course for the NCRA Podcast School, among others. I like to swim, and I'm learning how to skateboard. I just moved to Toronto, ON from Vancouver, BC, and I love my new city.
