Filmmaker and Photographer - Meg Igarashi is a Japanese-American award-winning filmmaker who loves working on multicultural stories rooted in complex human relationships. She loves to tell stories from a child’s perspective and passionate about coming of age stories. Meg has a background in film & TV , musical theater, video production, as well as photography. As a kid, Meg acted on screen and in many theater productions. As a teenager, she started making videos for fun, which began her love for filmmaking. At 19, she started working professionally in video production. In 2022, Meg's directional debut, Kid Heart - a musical short film set in Japan - was funded by Oscar-qualifying Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia and Amuse Inc., which has now won and been screened at many film festivals. Her second short film, Tamagoyaki, was shot in the UK and is now starting its film festival run. Tamagoyaki has been selected for BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying festivals. Meg is an optimistic, passionate storyteller who puts heart at the center of all her projects and everything she does.

    Meg’s first short film, Kid Heart, a musical short film set in Japan, has won 9 awards and been selected for 31 film festivals. She wrote, directed, edited, and wrote all the songs for the film. She also did some of the end credits illustrations.
