I am Merve Keskin, a Geospatial Data Scientist and Senior Researcher based in Salzburg, Austria, with 10+ years of international experience in geoinformatics, cartography, UI/UX, and Geo XAI. I focus on geovisualization, spatial cognition, human-centered map design, eye tracking and mobility, and I have led several EU-funded research projects. I am passionate about blending geospatial science with AI, wearable sensors, and eye-tracking to tackle real-world problems.

As a lecturer and supervisor, I teach Advanced Cartography and Geomedia Design, Information Visualization, and guide/mentor bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students and GI professionals. My work spans space technologies, geoinformatics, AI for disaster management, social interactions, sustainable mobility, and digital twins, and I enjoy creating impactful visualizations and user-centric GIS tools that bridge research and practice.
