I grew up in Kanagawa, Japan, and majored in graphic design at a junior college there. Since 1998, I have worked as a freelance illustrator for books, magazines, advertisements, websites, and other media. From 2004 to 2008, I lived in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, where I completed the Diploma of Printing and Graphic Arts (Digital Production) at TAFE Tasmania in 2007. I then moved back to Tokyo in February 2008. Between 2013 and 2026, I lived in Sweden, where I also studied animation at Skarpnäcks Folkhögskola for six months. I am now based in Japan again.
