I’m Jakub Malec, a Polish editor and camera professional focused on documentary and video production for broadcast and online platforms. I’ve spent years working on long-form “talking heads”, reels and shorts, event recordings, music videos, and off-road motorcycle training content—often shaping the final story in post-production. I work mainly in Final Cut Pro X (with earlier experience in Final Cut Studio 3 including FCP 7, Motion and Soundtrack), and I enjoy combining solid technical craft with creative problem-solving. Alongside my production work, I’ve taught film-editing courses and practical editing workflows, and I’m always interested in modern tools—from 2D/graphics learning to current drone pilot knowledge under EU rules.

Scythe: The Story of Karol Pniak

    https://www.twine.net/signin

Explore the life and wartime achievements of Karol Pniak – one of Poland’s greatest fighter pilots. The film explores his role in the Battle of Britain and many other struggles that earned him a heroic reputation.

Karol Pniak – Master of the Air

The film takes viewers back to the 1930s and 1940s, tracing the titular hero’s journey from humble beginnings in Jaworzno to his heroic service in the Polish Air Force. After graduating from the Officer Cadet School in Dęblin and earning numerous championship titles as a pilot, Pniak became one of the leading aces of the Polish Air Force. His skill and bravery were particularly evident during the September Campaign and the Battle of Britain, where, as a member of the famed “Skalski Circus,” he gained recognition by downing numerous enemy aircraft. During the war, he also fought on the African Front, and upon returning to Poland in 1947, he faced repression by the Security Service. Awarded numerous times, including the Silver Cross of Virtuti Militari, Pniak was a hero not only on the battlefield but also in the hearts of his comrades.

Karol Pniak through the eyes of Krzysztof Mroczkowski

The director immerses viewers in the world of wartime reality, using authentic photos and archival materials that reveal not only Pniak’s spectacular successes on the front but also his struggles with life in postwar Poland. Thanks to modern filming and the cinematography of Wiktor Kornaś, the documentary brings this fascinating story to life and allows us to experience the emotions of the fight for freedom.
