I’m Melvil, an audio engineer with a background in acoustics and sound design. I first got into audio through the dub sound system scene in Dijon, where I helped organize monthly events, ran a small volunteer record shop, and released vinyl on our label, Dubatriation. That led me toward mastering and disc cutting, and I eventually trained on Neumann VMS80 and VMS66 lathes in Paris and Austria, where I also started building custom Reaper scripts to make studio work smoother. More recently, I worked at Bonati Mastering in New York, assisting with mastering and cutting sessions, restoring old recordings (declicking, denoising), and digitizing a collection of discs. I also developed tools to control a Studer A820 tape machine remotely and helped maintain the studio’s analog gear.
