My name is Eddie Murphy Irandiha, a photographer and emerging filmmaker from Burundi, driven by a passion for visual storytelling and community impact. My creative journey began with filmmaking, but as I explored the power of the camera, I discovered that photography became my true calling. Since 2019, I have dedicated myself to documenting authentic human stories through both film and photography. Over the years, I have produced three short films, each reflecting meaningful social themes and the lived experiences of people in my community. Alongside filmmaking, I have developed a strong documentary photography practice, focusing on humanitarian work and visual storytelling. Working with humanitarian organizations has given me the privilege of serving communities across Burundi, including documenting life in refugee camps. These experiences have allowed me to witness resilience, hope, and the strength of the human spirit. Through my lens, I strive to create images that raise awareness, preserve untold stories, and inspire positive change. I believe photography is more than creating beautiful images—it is a powerful language capable of connecting people across cultures and giving a voice to those who are often unheard. Every project I undertake is guided by authenticity, empathy, and a commitment to excellence. As I continue to grow as both a photographer and filmmaker, I am eager to collaborate with international organizations, media platforms, and creative partners who share a passion for impactful storytelling. My goal is to use visual narratives to celebrate humanity, strengthen communities, and contribute to a more compassionate and informed world.
