Following the cases from when the police first got involved and the eventual capture and prosecution of the criminals. Using interview and CCTV footage to build a picture of events.

The series followed cases of fraud from the initial incident, the police involvement and the insurance investigators. With interviews from the Investigators, police and audio from the fraudsters reporting and lies throughout. We followed the criminal investigation and prosecution of each case.

Each week a diverse crew of engineers, crafters and gadgeteers to update inventions dating back to the 1930s, 40s, 50s or 60s using only Practical Mechanics’ faded plans as a guide. Working from a repurposed vintage shed on a Yorkshire airfield, the build teams decide on two builds from the magazine and set to work recreating them with modern technology.
