As a Costume Designer at Amscan, I contributed to the development of seasonal costume and accessory collections for Amscan’s core product range, sold to major international retailers and buyers worldwide. I was in charge of the development of products for major international retail clients, including Walmart, Woolworths, Coles, Big W, and Salling Group. My role encompassed the full design-to-production pipeline — Ranging from concept ideation and costume rendering to technical pack creation, product sampling coordination, factory communication, and final product photography and retouching — Ensuring all products were cohesive, retail-ready, and delivered on time to meet buyer specifications. Key Responsibilities: ✦ Designed full costume and accessory lines for Halloween and festive events, tailored to diverse markets and age groups ✦ Produced detailed tech packs and technical illustrations in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop for sampling and production ✦ Collaborated closely with the sales team, product developers, buyers, and manufacturers to manage timelines, material selections, and design approvals ✦ Involved in all stages of costume development, from sketching and pattern alteration to fabric sourcing, print design, safety testing, and costing ✦ Developed party product designs including headbands, plates, decorations, and novelty items ✦ Assisted in costume prodcut shoots, directed and handled in-house product photography, and retouched images for use in retail packaging and marketing materials ✨ Highlights: ✦ Managed high-volume customer accounts with tight turnaround times ✦ Balanced creativity with commercial viability, consistently delivering top-selling costume lines for global distribution ✦ Strong cross-functional experience across design, production, merchandising, and packaging
