Ollie Brown is a Los Angeles-based producer, mixer and engineer whose records favor feel over perfection. Working to tape, recording musicians playing together in one room, his productions blend the warmth and spontaneity of classic records with a modern sense of space and detail. As a producer and co-writer, Ollie has worked with Tyler Ballgame, Emily Brimlow, Camille Trust, White China, Elijah Delgado, EJ Worland, Rona Joy, Somebody Someone, R.O. Shapiro, S.L. Houser, and others. His instincts have been sharpened alongside some of the most distinctive producers working today - Paul Butler (Michael Kiwanuka, Andrew Bird), Tommy Brenneck (Charles Bradley, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings), Noah Georgeson (Andy Shauf, Daniel Rossen), Gianluca Buccellati (Arlo Parks, Lana Del Rey), and Alex Goose (Aaron Frazer, Kali Uchis). A multi-instrumentalist from a long line of musicians and music educators, Ollie was classically trained on tuba and trombone and built his craft in Sydney, where he owned and operated his own studio before moving to LA. In the studio, Ollie prefers the freedom of not playing to a click, combining raw performances, layered textures, and immersive arrangements drawn from '60s and '70s soul, folk, psych, and rock.
