We believe that people are our greatest asset, so the Altais Health Software Engineering team is critical to the success of the organization as a whole.

As the UI Developer, you will be reporting to the UI Lead and you will be responsible for developing client-side user interface designs and associated code. You are primarily responsible for using current front-end development practices and techniques to transform research into intuitive solutions that help end users achieve their goals. You will be highly visible and central to all organizational activity. You will be responsible for seamlessly integrate technologies and delivering data tools and visualizations that serve the Provider, Patient, and Payer communities. You will deliver interactive prototypes and prove experimental integrations and support Usability Testing.

About the Work

• Create wireframe and interactive prototypes to realize conceptual designs and collect feedback to support locking in on production worthy designs.
• Partner with engineering team to connect front-end development to the network stack to ensure security, performance, scalability, and supportability.

• Support Usability Testing of interactive prototypes and make design adjustments based on learnings.
• Utilize and evolve design standards and patterns to create a unified experience across applications and support the development team with design and style guidelines to manage our brand.
• Maintain code base and supporting path to production migrations and act as consultant for production support.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of demonstrated design work – please provide link to portfolio
• Passion for technology – an early adopter of technology that pushes the envelope for new and creative ways to use technology to deliver incredible experiences
• Creative and artistic with a strong attention to detail
• Flexible and adaptable with ability to thrive through ambiguity
• Team player with positive attitude
• Expertise in JavaScript, jQuery
• Expertise in CSS, HTML, and basic front-end development are required
• Strong knowledge of responsive web design
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
• Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages with flexible and reusable code
• Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
• Familiarity with and adherence to web standards
• Healthcare Industry experience preferred

Physical Requirements
Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork – Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
