November Dance - American School of Doha

DJ is needed in Doha, Qatar.

What is the project, and what do you want to achieve with it?
The project is a High School November Dance with the theme of “Hollywood Ball” or “Winter Wonderland”. Students are permitted to dress in their most stylish clothing and enter the school in “style” through a red carpet themed runway for the Hollywood Ball dance. The Winter Wonderland Dance features a more “colder” vibe, with snowflakes and blue/winter themed decorations. Students are invited to wear both their fanciest clothing or something more suitable for a winter vacation. The goal of the dance to make a lasting impression on people who attend, and have them to want another dance similar to this one next year.

What is your role within the organisation, or is this a person project?
I am the Director of Strategic Vision and Event Planning for the American School of Doha. While this may be a student role, this is also a serious job and it is my responsibility to make events and ideas last and count, and most important of all, to make sure students have a great time in the said event.

Do you have a deadline?
The deadline is a long while away. So far, this is a hypothetical dance that could occur, but we need a DJ regardless that we can contact whenever we need one, for example another dance or a homecoming/prom event. A DJ who is reliable and trustworthy is likely to gain the school’s trust and thus be invited to monitor events despite the type.

Are there reference materials that can be shared to give insight into what is needed?
For this dance, we require a multitude of materials. A DJ is just one of which we need to entertain students and make them feel as if they are in a real party environment. Along with a DJ, it would be nice to have the following:

• A photo booth for students to create memories of the day with friends
• A catering organization that can provide real food, not just junk food with soda
• Lighting, such as colored lights, a disco ball, floor tiles for a dance competition.
