Job Title:

Video EditorJob Purpose:

Prepare and assemble raw footage for broadcast and online platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble raw footage in preparation for inputting into a broadcast format.
• Input uncut rushes and sound; synchronize and store them onto Student Media’s warehouse and broadcast platforms.
• Digitally cut files and prepare the sequence of the broadcast.
• Create a rough cut of the program/film to utilize in determining the final product.
• Oversee the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing.
• Write voiceovers or commentary for the reporters as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Remote Work Eligibility:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus. OR This position is eligible for remote work and/or a flexible work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Student for the entire academic year
• Available for training one week prior to the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
• Ability to edit raw content to produce a broadcast or other video product.
• Knowledge of broadcast journalism principles and techniques.

Desired Qualifications:

• Some supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of video editing techniques, protocols and standards.
• Knowledge of industry-related software.
