**LEAD EDITOR [Freelance]**About The Job

Popular YouTube creator with over 25 million subscribers on the main channel (and rapidly growing sub channels/socials) is looking to hire a freelance to full time lead editor! Ideal candidates are decisive, collaborative, and always looking to improve their craft. We are looking to build and invest in a core post team that understands the content we create.

What you will be doing:

• You will take the lead on the finishing edits for a large portion of the videos that release on the main channel, as well as occasionally taking on videos on the sub channel. You will work with the other editors on the project to oversee and help guide story direction, and will take the lead on the finishing stages of the edit (graphics, SFX, color, audio).
• Your role on each video will vary depending on the scope, so we are looking for someone who is capable of taking an edit from the initial sync and assembly, through story cutdowns and finishing touches such as graphics, FX, color touch ups, and audio work.
• You will be working closely with our Post Production Supervisor and our larger post and creative team to develop standards and improve workflows for the channel. This includes longer term projects such as building out asset libraries and style guides, to improve the efficiency of our edits over time.

• You have experience and comfort with unscripted content - especially for YouTube.
• You are collaborative, organized, and proactive with your communication.
• You understand YouTube humor and storytelling, and keep on top of trends on those platforms
• You are decisive and can work quickly through a large volume of content.

Job Requirements

• Our post team is currently fully remote - so ability to work from a home set up is required.
• We are open to out of state applicants, though preference will be shown to those local to Austin, TX, and to applicants who are open to moving to Austin once our studio space is complete in approximately 1 year.
• Must be proficient in Premiere Pro have a general knowledge of the Adobe Suite.
• Proficiency with Photoshop and After Effects is preferred.
• Experience with Maxon Universe, especially PluralEyes, is a plus.
• Experience editing for social media (TikTok, Instagram, etc) is a plus.
• We encourage you to send an editing reel / portfolio of your work when you apply.
• All editors must complete a freelance trial edit in order to be considered for the full time role.
