Overview

The creative arts division at 21st Century Church includes the worship arts. This document gives an overview of the director of worship arts. Worship arts is an integral part of the mission of 21st Century Church. We will create a place for worship leaders, musicians, and artists to thrive both in all spheres of life i.e., inside the church building and outside the church walls. Our mandate is to shift culture with our music.

ROLE:

Lead, spiritually speaking, the congregation in a presence-centered worship experience. Administrate and organize with excellence, scheduling, planning, logistics of said worship experiences including rehearsals and sound checks. Alongside the band director, develop and recruit a pipeline of musicians with a variety of skills and a passion for worship. Shepherd people through discipleship and directorial skills. To be a resource for other churches seeking to develop a multiethnic culture of worship.

Training:

As we prepare for our public launch (weekly church service for 21st Century Church), we build a team of like-minded people. Going through build* the reimagining church workshop is essential to truly understand the D.N.A. of 21st Century Church. We offer two workshop dates for this training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead a team of paid staff and volunteers in the development of infrastructure to support the use of the arts in all areas of the church.
• Lead at minimum a bi-monthly (every other month) regular fellowship gathering where all team members are invited.
• Plan, design, and produce weekly adult worship gatherings with both spiritual sensitivity and excellence.
• Serve as a worship leader for weekly adult worship gatherings, leading the entire congregation in a presence-centered worship experience.
• Recruit, train, equip, mentor, and direct musicians, vocalists, and technical/creative artists in the development of a variety of worship teams including, but not limited to, small ensembles, choirs, special genre, etc.
• Develop support teams (Leadership Team, Creative Arts Team, A/V, etc.).
• Provide oversight or support in the development of ensembles in non-adult ministries (i.e. Teens, Young Adults, etc.).
• Provide arts support as needed in the production of special events, stage design, and other church events.
• Provide oversight or support of other worship media, such as drama, dance, etc.
• Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of adult worship facilities.
• Function as a member of the operational staff by engaging in staff meetings, events, baptism services, weddings, funerals, etc. (on a case by case basis).
• Develop an annual Worship Arts Ministries plan which includes an annual budget, leadership development objectives.

EMPHASIS:

• Developing strong relationships with Local Music group Cross Worship.
• Create a space where other worship leaders, artists, and musicians can be equipped and launched out.
• Proven understanding of how to develop people to become mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
• Development of Ministry Team Members by creating opportunities for Biblical community through spiritual formation, shepherding, and leadership.
• Strategic and visionary thinking at a high level for campus expansion, both locally and beyond. Hunger to grow spiritually, organizationally, and as a leader of a diverse group of adults.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
