Roles & Responsibilities

  • Editing videos and long-form video podcasts (one long-form video podcast per week, from 10 – 75 mins)
  • Selecting, cutting, and editing shorter videos and clips from full-length videos; editing and reformatting for different social platforms (Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, etc)
  • Adding graphics and animations when/where relevant
  • Helping to guide the look and feel of all videos; coming up with ideas for visual aids, animations, and improving the quality of videos
  • Working alongside another video editor to match & refine styles
  • Weighing in on other creative decisions around videos, including thumbnail design, titles, captions, descriptions, topics, etc
  • Strategizing on how to grow our YouTube channel sustainably and in a way that aligns with our values
  • Interfacing with others on team to make sure the video production process runs smoothly

Skills

  • Editing videos for length, clarity, visual appeal, color, graphics/animations as needed
  • Resizing and reformatting videos for different platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Expertise in social clips is an asset
  • Highly communicative
  • Able to take direction & comfortable working collaboratively
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of Adobe Premiere
  • Good sense of timing in editing
  • Self-starter
  • Understanding and acting off of YouTube metrics
  • Experience with and understanding of YouTube growth strategies
  • Interest and/or experience with functional medicine/health/wellness is an asset
  • Familiarity with Dr. Ruscio Radio is an asset
  • Familiarity with similar podcasts/channels in the health & wellness space (Peter Attia, Andrew Huberman, etc.) is an asset
