The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is searching for a freelance video editor and designer to create and edit short-form videos to highlight and advance CSPI programs and priorities for distribution on Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other organic and paid digital media efforts.

We’re searching for an independent contractor with the following qualifications…

• Experience as a video editor or motion graphics designer in an agency/production or nonprofit environment.
• Proficiency in editing software programs.
• Experience in 2D animation preferred.
• Experience in editing for TikTok a plus.
• General understanding of brand adherence, copyright, and licensing.

Services To Be Performed Include:

• Prepare and review content briefs, scripts, shot decisions, visual and audio effects, and other raw material. Identify stock footage and photos, as needed.
• Create and edit short-form video clips for use on social media platforms, including trimming footage and adding post-production elements for rough and final cuts.
• Provide technical support for design and video-related efforts.
• Assist in planning for and executing video shoots, both remotely and in-person, should the contractor be local to the Washington, DC metro area.

This is a short-term contract for up to 20 hours per week (estimated) and is available immediately. The hourly pay rate for services is negotiable based on experience. This is a remote opportunity within the United States.
