Requirements:

• Experience editing fun, trendy, and nerdy content.
• NOTE: Portfolios that only include commercial editing will not be considered. We want an editor who can be an extension of our brand’s voice, who’ll work with us to shape that voice through our content. Don’t be afraid to show us your quirky edits! We’d love to see your personal vibe come across in your work!
• Fluency in Adobe Premiere Pro with proven work experience in the software.
• Experience with Adobe After Effects for motions graphics and basic effects work.
• General experience in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Basic understanding of audio terminology (mixing, pan, levels, clipping, etc.) and experience editing content with social-media and YouTube ready sound quality.
• Experience color grading (fluency in DaVinci Resolve is a plus)
• Experience sifting through large volumes of footage and creating concise and compelling stories from that footage.
• Experience editing short form vertical content for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts etc.
• Experience editing longform YouTuber style content from vlogs to tutorials to more professional productions.
• Ability to edit about four to five pieces of short form content a week or roughly one long form YouTube video a week.
• Regular availability during the week for check-ins and team meetings.
• Ability to work in a several month long contract.
• A positive attitude, high emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills.
• A team player mentality, willing to step outside the bounds of your role to help the team succeed.
• A readiness to collaborate, innovate, and think outside the box.

Who We’re Looking For:

• You enjoy nerd content, gamer culture, and are a fan of animation. Huge bonus points if you can tell us what some of your favorite recent animated shows and movies are.
• You are in the know about nerd culture trends, memes, discourse and consume a lot of content in that space.
• You have experience creating content in the spaces mentioned above and can demonstrate that in your portfolio.
• You are ready to create worthwhile media and help us build positive communities through our content.

Pluses:

• You live in the greater Los Angeles area.
• You have experience creating traditional / 2D frame-by-frame animation.
• You have experience with VFX, Motion Design, or 2D puppet animation.
• You are a fan of things like DnD, musicals, the MCU, Star Wars, and really any other form of grand narrative escapism. Extra points if you are an animation fan.
• You are a fan of Indie Dance / Indie Pop music or are a musician / music creator yourself.
