Contract: Part Time

Position Overview

The position is at-will, part-time with the potential for full-time, with varied work hours. Remote work may be arranged as coordinated with the Marketing Manager. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $16-20/hour. The offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. This position is classified as FLSA non-exempt with no benefits offered at this time.

The position plays a critical role in the organization’s ability to meet marketing and communication needs both internally and externally. The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the Marketing Manager and General Manager which includes administrative support, events support, graphic design, gathering data, social media activities, and brand awareness initiatives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the design and graphics of marketing materials.
  • Assisting with marketing campaigns, product messaging, and branding.
  • Working to increase brand awareness on multiple social media sites in collaboration with the Marketing Manager.
  • Conducting market research to better understand the marketing needs of the organization and KIP’s audiences.
  • Ongoing work to source new and creative ways to develop events that connect KIP with the community.
  • Event management logistics include Digital invitations, booth/table management, and event logistics.
  • Creating detailed and visually appealing graphs, profiles, one-sheets, and other collateral for various departments and leaders of the strategy team.
  • Collaborating with various departments to fulfill their marketing and communication needs.
  • Updating and creating innovative new content for website, social media, and digital ads.
  • Assisting with video production, outreach efforts, etc.
  • Interact with different audiences (vendors, staff, and customers) in a friendly and professional manner to generate sales, improve communication and contribute positively to the overall vibe.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key marketing vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Experience

Certification or degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or Communication is required, however relevant experience and skills in a similar role will be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in Cannabis is helpful, but not required. Bilingual (Spanish & English) is a plus!

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • An engaged individual, respectful and responsive to a diverse community that KIP serves
  • Strong working knowledge of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter), CRM services, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Canva and Google Suite is required
  • Uses collaborative approach to management and has flexibility to work with broad range of cultures, personalities, and work styles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and organizational skills
  • Sound judgement and flexibility to prioritize and handle multiple projects at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
  • Ongoing focus on continual improvement and efficiencies to process
  • Professional demeanor and willingness to cooperatively participate on a team in a small mission-based organization
  • Detail-oriented with ability to self-manage and take initiative on projects with minimal supervision
  • Capacity to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Analytical skills to compile data and present in an easy-to-understand method

Workspace/Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to travel to main KIP Dispensary for regular meetings and training events for staff
  • Internet services to ensure work responsibilities can be fully met (KIP provides basic equipment)
  • Fast-paced environment with ability to adjust with shifting priorities as needed to meet the needs of our customer base
  • Ability to work a weekend or evening event on behalf of KIP, as needed. 1 Weekend shift per week may be required.

Pay:

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours:

20 – 40 per week
