Position Information

The Social Media Editor will be a vital part of a small collaborative team promoting Ohio University Libraries’ online collections of one-of-a-kind and rare items through social media. The Social Media Editor creates and stages short posts utilizing Digital Archives collection content. Additional opportunities include creation of promotional material such as videos, blogging, creative graphics, interviews, digital storytelling. Platforms utilized include Instagram, X (Twitter), Pinterest, YouTube, Spotify, WordPress, and Story Maps. The Digital Initiatives unit is a part of the Mahn Center for Archives and Special Collections, Preservation & Digital Initiatives. Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of popular social media platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with popular and emerging social media platforms; experience with image and video editing; interest in history and archival collections

Pay Rate

• $12.20/hr

Work Schedule

• This position will begin fall semester 2023 and is ongoing.
• The Social Media Editor will work 10 hours per week, with flexible work hours to be scheduled between 8:30am-5:30pm, M-F. Work location may be a combination of hybrid onsite/offsite. Onsite location is Alden Library Room 333 in the 3rd floor Digital Initiatives unit.
