HipLatina is looking for a Freelance Social Media Assistant to join our team on a paid 3 month assignment. This position will work a total of 24 hours a week max; there will be occasional weekend work therefore flexibility is required. Candidates must live in the following states to be eligible: CA, NY, or IL and the position is remote. HipLatina is a digital publication for and by Latinas covering culture, entertainment, news, and lifestyle. The Freelance Social Media Assistant will be required to have a strong understanding of the publishing process as well as excellent writing/editing/fact checking skills. In order to be considered for this role candidates will be expected to have an understanding of social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter and the ability to write news articles and features. This role will give candidates the experience to create social video content and therefore it is preferred that applicants be familiar with executing related tasks such as creating reels/TikToks and feel comfortable behind and in front of the screen. The assistant will be expected to work collaboratively and execute a variety of social media and editorial tasks while being able to prioritize accordingly. They should be able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner. They will also have the opportunity to contribute articles and pitch ideas for TikToks/Reels and the chance to interview public figures in the Latinx community.

Responsibilities include:

• Contributing articles/listicles to the website
• Ideating and creating IG content on Canva
• Ideating and recording reels
• Occasionally helping on weekends with social coverage
• Trending social content and story research
• Administrative tasks include updating editorial and social calendars
• Ideating new formats and opportunities for HipLatina

Bonus Experience:

• Spanish speaker
• Managing social platforms
• Influencer networking experience

Requirements:

• Experience with Wordpress, Canva, Later
• Experience using and creating content on social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter.
• Familiarity with HipLatina’s content, voice, and mission
• Published writer and/or proven experience in creating engaging social content

The anticipated salary for this role is Minimum wage
