We are recruiting for an in-person role in our fast-paced and challenging work environment.

Role Summary

We are currently seeking a freelance Full-Stack Web Developer to craft exceptional digital experiences for our clients. The role will involve contributing to ongoing projects, including the newly designed Megamac.com website, thegrowthclinic.co.uk and our own website — kintek.co.uk.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proficiency in static site development and the Remix framework
• Experience in writing automated tests
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Skill in creating understandable GitHub issues
• A strong focus on user-centric software development

Front-end Development Skills

• Design Implementation: Convert UI/UX designs into functional web pages.
• Browser Compatibility: Ensure that websites are cross-browser compatible and adhere to web standards.
• Performance: Optimise front-end performance by compressing assets, utilising caching, and other methods.
• Responsive Design: Make sure the website is fully responsive and optimised for various devices and screen sizes.
• User Interaction: Implement user-facing features that interact with server-side APIs or static data.

Back-end Development Skills

• Data Management: Although static sites often do not interact with databases, you may still need to manage data files (e.g., JSON, XML) to generate static content.
• Build Tools: Utilise build tools like Webpack, Gulp, or others for tasks such as compiling Sass/LESS to CSS, minification, etc.
• Version Control: Use Git to manage codebase changes.
• Automation: Write scripts to automate repetitive tasks such as generating new pages from templates.
• Server Configuration: Although minimal compared to dynamic sites, you may still be responsible for tasks like SSL certificate management, and configuring redirects, especially on serverless architectures like Fly.io.

General Responsibilities

• Testing: Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the functionality and reliability of the site.
• Documentation: Maintain good documentation for codebase and any system configurations.
• Deployment and Monitoring: Execute and manage deployments, and monitor website performance, uptime, and errors.
• Framework/Library Management: Update JavaScript frameworks and libraries (if used) to the latest versions while ensuring compatibility.

Location

The role will primarily be based in London. The employee will conduct their work at the founder’s vibrant workspace, at home, and around the city. It will also sometimes be necessary to travel to events, Reading, and other cities.

Details

• Salary: £13.15 per hour (London Living Wage)
• Reporting to: Sandra Jasinska
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (at least 2 days per week for part-time role)
