Job Description:

Bloomberg Media is seeking an experienced podcast producer to work on a daily podcast focused on the economy, world news, and enterprise business news. The producer will collaborate with a larger audio team and work alongside reporters and editors in Bloomberg’s newsroom. The producer will work under the guidance of an Executive Producer and be responsible for generating story ideas, leading production pods, scripting episodes, and managing production tasks. This role is project-based, with opportunities to work on other shows in the Bloomberg Podcast portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and solicit daily story ideas in collaboration with the Executive Producer and broader newsroom slate
• Lead production pods on various episodes of the daily show, managing logistics and story quality
• Collaborate on scripting episodes, advising on story arc, outline, and framing
• Produce and report in the field and in the studio
• Bring episodes from first draft to final draft in collaboration with other producers
• Demonstrate excellent news judgment and stay updated on business news and general news
• Collaborate with the Executive Producer to manage the long-term editorial calendar and day-to-day production tasks
• Edit episodes for sensitivity and quality concerns

Skills and Experience:

Required:

• Experience in a newsroom environment or on projects with rigorous journalistic ethics
• Reporting experience in addition to production tasks
• Experience with field, remote, and in-studio production
• Demonstrated interest in covering business news
• Proficiency in editing software, specifically Audition (Pro Tools is a plus)

Preferred:

• Experience in sound engineering, sound design, and story editing
