Job Description

Temple Rodef Shalom is seeking a hard-working sound engineer experienced in live sound management for various religious services and programs, including setting up and operating sound equipment, mixing soundboards, and ensuring proper audio levels. The individual will be responsible for mic’ing musical instruments, solo voices, and choirs, setting up cables and stands, and troubleshooting audio system issues.

Requirements

Qualified candidates should have experience in sound/stage production, possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. They must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, adapt to changing circumstances, follow directions well, and work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels. A degree or certification in audio engineering is preferred.

General Schedule

Contract audio engineers typically work Friday nights, 5th Friday nights, Saturday mornings, Saturday afternoons, and occasionally Sundays or weeknights. Each shift lasts about 4 hours and pays $180, covering setup, mixing, and tear down.
