Job Description
We are looking for a creative and passionate well-rounded part-time editor to join our team and get stuck into some exciting projects. You will be responsible for crafting visually engaging content for a wide range of clients as well as delivering content in a variety of formats for different social platforms. You’ll attend client meetings online to discuss upcoming projects and come bursting with ideas to pitch. In the edit, you’ll be handling raw project assets and transforming them into professional pieces of video content. Your meticulous attention to detail plays a pivotal role in ensuring client satisfaction, including colour grading. By aligning to a client’s brand guidelines, you can quickly and efficiently craft videos to an exceptional standard. You’ll also be responsible for creating content for our own social platforms and website.
Given the client-facing nature of this role, it’s important you have strong written and verbal communication skills and experience dealing with constructive feedback. Organisational skills are crucial when plotting your production calendar, as well as organising asset locations and keeping project files tidy. You’ll be working across multiple projects simultaneously, so it’s important to manage your time effectively to meet client deadlines. The nature of our dynamic work environment occasionally necessitates flexibility in working hours to meet client deadlines.
Although this is predominantly a work from home role, candidates are required to attend a shared co-working space in Birmingham at least twice a month. Applicants should ensure they reside within reasonable commuting distance to meet this requirement.
Requirements
• Attend online client meetings to take briefs or provide updates.
• Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions.
• Edit raw footage into a polished, attention-grabbing video, incorporating music, graphics, and captions.
• Ensure all videos meet quality standards, brand guidelines, and are delivered on time.
• Ensure project files are organised and project folders are backed up on our Cloud storage.
• Promote video content on social media channels.
• Have a strong, reliable, and fast internet connection for client meetings and file transfers.
• Easily commute to Birmingham at least twice per month.
Essential Qualifications
• 3+ years experience in video editing.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Intermediate knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition.
• In-depth knowledge of social media trends, best practices, and video requirements (e.g., orientation, formats, durations).
• Efficiently project manage client work to meet deadlines and ensure no compromise in quality.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across the team and with clients.
• Strong organisation skills, manage calendar entries and update project trackers, including managing freelancers where necessary.
• A strong portfolio showcasing projects you’ve edited.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, tight deadlines, and fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to resolve technical issues during the editing phase.
Desirable Qualifications
• Monitor social media analytics to optimise video content strategies.
• Creating YouTube thumbnails, social media, and website artwork.
