Job title: ArtForms Musician Tutor Strings
Salary: PO1 £37,035 - £39,513 (pro rata)
Hours: 17
Contract: Temporary (May half term to October half term 2025)
Locations: Peripatetic (working across Leeds schools and academies)
As a musical instrument Tutor for ArtForms, you’ll thrive on seeing your pupils progress and evolve through their musical engagement with their school and beyond. This role includes teaching instrumental lessons in both small group and whole class settings. There is also the opportunity to conduct some of our youth ensembles during the evening. Experience in both whole class and ensemble leading is desirable.
Requirements
Qualifications
Essential: Qualification to Grade 8 on at least one instrument (or equivalent standard). A Graduate, professional qualification or equivalent, or Qualified Teacher Status is welcomed.
Essential Requirements
- A high level of ability in the instrument being taught and a knowledge of teaching that instrument family.
- Ability to teach all levels from beginners upwards.
- Ability to motivate learners of all abilities.
- Ability and experience in teaching groups and individuals.
- Ability to adapt easily to various working practices and teaching environments.
- Knowledge of a wide range of musical styles and appropriate repertoire.
- Broader knowledge of the teaching and learning of music and current instrumental teaching trends.

- Experience in creating and arranging learning materials for lessons.
- Experience of promoting and delivering music in educational settings.
