Job Description

We are seeking a React Web Developer to join Orica Digital Solution, a global technology business focused on mining and civil infrastructure markets. This role is based in our Vancouver, Canada office and is a temporary position. You will be involved in supporting IoT applications that enhance safety, productivity, and environmental impact.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop GIS and data visualization applications with real-world impacts.
• Implement responsive and visually appealing designs for positive user experiences across devices and browsers.
• Rapidly build new, legacy-free web applications.
• Write well-documented, clean, and modular code following best practices.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, perform code reviews, and participate in technical discussions.

What You Will Bring

Qualifications

• Proven experience in web development with a focus on React.js and MUI.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux Toolkit) and frontend build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack).
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, Websockets, OAuth.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes.

Additional Desired Skills

• Advanced knowledge of data plotting libraries such as Plotly or SciCharts.
• Familiarity with web-based GIS frameworks (ArcGIS, Leaflet, OpenLayers).
• Experience building engineering applications.
• Understanding of spatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles) and visualization techniques.
• Experience in Node.js or C#/.Net development is a plus.

Education

• College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geomatics, or a related field.
• A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Compensation

This is a temporary full-time position with a salary range of CAD 90,000.00 - 130,000.00 annually. The salary range serves as a guide and may vary based on experience, skills, and geographical location.
