Hello. I am Pascal Thivillon, a french graphic designer and published comic book creator based in North Yorkshire, UK. I graduated from the *École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués* in Lyon (France) in 1988. In 1989, I co-founded the graphic design studio *Trois-quarts face*, which operated in both France and Mexico until 1998. Since then, I’ve worked as a *freelance designer*, collaborating with clients in both France and the UK. Alongside my design work, I’ve always been **passionate about storytelling through comics**. My graphic narratives have appeared in various publications, including *Ego comme x*, *Cargo*, *Egoscopic* (France), and *Periferica* (Portugal). I’ve received a **Centre National du Livre Award** (France) in 2004 for my comic project *HM* (which remains unpublished). My work continued to evolve with the release of *Les Conspirateurs* in 2012 (Poivre & Sel Publisher, Belgium) and the graphic novel *Communistes!* in 2018 (Glénat Publisher, France). In 2023, I won the **Spirou Atomium Prize** and contributed to *Spirou Magazine* with my series *Inventures*. The same year, I also self-published my comic book series *Bouzouki & Tortilla*. To this day, I continue to explore new creative avenues, both in graphic design and comics.

    uniE621 Inventures
Published in *Spirou Magazine*, 2024 Award: Prix Atomium Spirou 2023 A series of one-page strips featuring Jérôme, a young boy with a vivid imagination. In the face of everyday life challenges, he invents adventures for himself…
    uniE621 Communistes!
Autobiographical graphic novel Published by Glénat, 2018 Publisher's blurb: Not everyone was lucky enough to have communist parents! In the 1970s, Pascal grew up in a family of communist activists. Raised from an early age by his parents to the idea of social justice, he lived from the inside everything that defined the essence of the struggle: protests, leaflet distributions, general assemblies, wild poster pasting, the "Fête de l'Humanité", Pif and its gadget, the hope of a brighter future... Communism was all of this, and much more! With his naive and innocent perspective, he takes stock of these obsessions, dreams, the occasional absurdity, the frequent dogmatism, but also the genuine camaraderie, overflowing generosity, and blind enthusiasm, writing the story of a fight that was as fierce as it was beautiful and joyful. Pascal Thivillon offers an autobiographical chronicle of his life in a communist family during the 1970s. Through his memories, he provides a tenderly nostalgic testimony of an era seen through the lens of youth. A light, funny, and touching album, far from being militant. uniE621 Présumé Absent
Graphic novel inspired by real-life events In development, 2025 Synopsis: *Présumé Absent* is a work of fiction that attempts to understand and retrace – without ever excusing – the wandering of a man driven by his lies toward an inevitable, murderous madness. Presented in an alternating chronology (sometimes after, sometimes before the murder) and alternating between voice-over sequences and dialogue scenes, the different moments of this slow descent are like scattered pieces of a macabre puzzle that fascinates and hypnotizes. Seeking answers to our own anxieties – who is lying to us? who are we lying to? – we tirelessly try to reconstruct it, even though we know that the final piece, central and essential, will always be absent.
    uniE621 Bouzouki & Tortilla
2 volumes, 36 pages each Self published, 2023 Synopsis: As they wander through the countryside on a beautiful summer day, Bouzouki & Tortilla discover, to their horror, numerous dead fish floating on the surface of a river. Intrigued, they decide to follow the trail, without suspecting for a moment that they’ve just stepped into a terrifying mechanism beyond their control. Armed with only their courage and moral compass, will they manage to make good triumph? To see more pages: https://www.twine.net/signin
    uniE621 Les Conspirateurs
Comic Book - 52 pages Published by *Poivre et Sel*, Belgium, 2012 Publisher's blurb: He wants to create a secret organization... So secret that he’s the only one who knows it exists. But how do you plot conspiracies when you’re alone and not exactly the easiest person to get along with? So, he starts pasting up posters to recruit. That’s how he comes across the other guy—slightly shy, slightly nice, and slightly stupid. He becomes "GRAND UN" (Big One), and the other becomes "petit deux" (Little Two). Together, these apprentice conspirators will quickly learn that power can be overturned—or conquered—anywhere, really anywhere. This farce, while lighthearted, touches on one of the hottest current topics: the rise and fall of despotic powers, both big and small.
