SWE Co-Op Intern at AlGoUniversity (YC S21)

I developed and implemented a comprehensive Online Judge platform as a Software Engineer Co-op Intern at AlgoUniversity, allowing users to create, compile, and run code with real-time rulings. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I worked on the front end to make it completely responsive and easy to use. In addition to implementing Docker-based containerization and sandboxing for safe code execution, I integrated SQLite with Django ORM on the backend for effective queries and form validation. Serving static files and managing SSL certificates, I handled deployment on AWS EC2 with Nginx reverse proxy and SSL, ensuring the system was prepared for production. Additionally, I incorporated Google's Gemini AI model for intelligent code analysis into the judge, which supports three languages and provides thorough test case evaluations while maintaining a submission delay of about five seconds. Aside from the technical work, top engineers from Google, Apple, Grab Singapore, and Microsoft taught me a lot about system design. As part of the process, I created both high-level and low-level design documents.
