Bec Sandridge is a songwriter, producer, mentor, and multidisciplinary artist based on the South Coast of Australia. Her primary weapon of choice is guitar—paired with her distinct, emotive vocals. Drawing on her folk roots, Sandridge crafts nostalgic, 80s-esque pop songs that shimmer with sincerity and bite. Inspired by icons like Cyndi Lauper, David Byrne, and Prince, she transports listeners into cinematic worlds through fuzzed-out guitars, arpeggiated synths, and ethereal vocals—and, in more intimate moments, tells stories with just her voice and guitar. Sandridge’s highly anticipated debut album TRY + SAVE ME (2019) was released independently, following her debut EP In The Fog (2016, Farmer & The Owl / BMG). Multiple singles—including Animal, Eyes Wide, Stranger, I’ll Never Want A BF, High Tide, You’re A Fucking Joke, and In The Fog, In The Flame—received full rotation on triple j and community radio nationwide, and high rotation on Germany’s Flux FM. Stranger, co-written with Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy), was a finalist in the International Songwriting Contest’s Unsigned category in 2020, judged by Chris Martin (Coldplay), Dua Lipa, and Tom Waits. As a live performer, Sandridge has played leading festivals including London Calling (Amsterdam), Falls Festival, Groovin’ The Moo, Festival of the Sun, and Fairgrounds. Her dynamic stage presence has earned her coveted support slots alongside Catfish and the Bottlemen, Yungblud, The Rubens, Mitski, Highasakite, Marlon Williams, The Naked and Famous, Missy Higgins, Montaigne, and Cub Sport. In 2021, Sandridge was commissioned by Dead Puppet Society to compose the soundtrack for Ishmael, a futuristic reimagining of Moby Dick that premiered at QPAC as part of Brisbane Festival. The production went on to tour nationally and play a two-week season at the Sydney Opera House in 2022. Her synth-laden score was praised by The Guardian as “the beating heart of the production,” while The Australian described it as “interplanetary, pop-driven, and powerful.” An in-demand collaborator, Sandridge has co-written with a broad range of artists and producers including Dave Jenkins Jr (Daniel Johns, Vera Blue), Lucy Taylor (Pawws, Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding), Essie Holt, CHC (Nouvelle Vague), Andy Bull, Phebe Starr, Demi Louise, Xavier Dunn, Thomas McNeice (Gang of Four), Sarah Blasko, Japanese Wallpaper, and Oscar Dawson. Her original songs and instrumentals have featured across film, TV, and commercial placements including Dance Academy (Netflix), The L Word: Generation Q (Showtime), Dulux Paint AU, and The Spirit of Tasmania campaign.
