I know how to edit together interviews, can pick out story from dozens of hours of dailies / raw footage, edit stringouts and internal and network outputs, and can adjust story if the content changes based on reality. I’ve led teams of producers, story producers, editors, assistant editors, and post production assistants. I’ve maintained delivery standards while addressing network notes and have never missed a deadline. I’m fluent in AVID, Final Cut, Premiere, and Resolve. I’ve won the award for long-form radio storytelling from the National Society of Professional Journalists, and a storytelling award from RadioLab on NPR. I’ve also worked for NPR and ABC as a news producer. I’ve produced several feature documentaries, including one that found international distribution (Life Without Color), and was the Story Producer for another that was an Official Selection at SXSW (Good ‘Ol Girl). I’ve booked interviews and travel for interviewees. I’ve researched and licensed all digital media used for projects, organized massive online collaborative databases to keep track of all digital and physical assets aged as far back as the late 1800s. For social media, I’ve produced videos for Snapchat, including vertical format, and am familiar with producing fast paced content for the medium. I can export to a wide range of aspect ratios with different codecs and have no problem managing file size limits for different platforms. As a line producer on several features and short films, I’ve put together scene breakdowns, budgets, and created a plan of production. I know how to put together a small and a large crew, have negotiated contracts and terms, and can put together the paperwork. I’ve managed budgets up to $2.5 million for feature films and adjusted categories as logistics change. I’ve coordinated the creation of and ledger for bank accounts associated with film entities. I know how to acquire permits, lock in locations, and adjust for contingencies when they arise. I’ve contracted all shoot locations and partnerships with post-production facilities. I’ve worked in development and negotiated with investors contributing to production, post-production, and distribution of feature films for over 4 years. I have built out full business plans, created pitch decks, and adjusted contracts for distributors, investors, and producers. I have several creative approaches for adapting a deal to the investor who might have different financial goals and timelines that work for them.
