An experienced graphic and brand design lead with a focus on clarity of communication and creativity. I’m Rob Dalton, a Dublin based brand designer, graphic designer, illustrator, organiser, load-shoulderer, plate spinner, spreadsheet lover, obsessive doodler, amateur noodler, dad and husband. Not always in that order. Over 7 years with Millimetre Design, I delivered over 260 projects for clients across multiple sectors, acting as the project lead on most. Most recently, I worked with PLAYHUMAN, a Belfast based start up, on the development of their brand identity and the user interface for their site. I am driven, focused and passionate about what I do. While I work primarily in a visual medium, communication is the most important aspect of my work. Clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders ensures the most effective use of both my time and my clients. Language is also very important to me. I studied English Literature in university (I thought myself a writer) and this has proven invaluable in proof reading clients’ work and providing edits to create more impactful copy and messaging. On a personal note, I’m passionate about creativity and its positive effects on mental health. Allowing creativity to exist in one’s free time as a completely unmonetised, “doing it for the sake of doing it” activity is tremendously fulfilling. Moreover, in an increasingly digital world, working with physical materials of any sort warms something at our very core.
