I’m Rodrigo Valdivia, a Chilean DJ, producer, and cultural curator of sound, based in Temuco. My relationship with electronic music started in the early 2000s, but it was in 2006 that I began to work professionally. In a region with few club infrastructures, I built from the ground up a local scene, programming high-caliber proposals and sustaining atmospheres that kept bodies and frequencies moving. I was more than a DJ: I became a cultural manager, a scene curator, and a tireless diffuser of a sound language that took years to find its place in the south of Chile. My work ran through residencies and spaces that helped shape my voice—Cigarra.fm, Lab Music Chillán, Oculto Te muco, Safari Santiago, Cabaret Santiago, Mamba Santiago, Lunatica Santiago—and I learned to hold long, immersive atmosphere on the floor. As a producer, I’ve released on international labels such as Cadenza Lab, Levitar, Cenital, B.SOUL, Moowi, ReleaseSustain, Houseworks, and W3ird Ltd, with vinyl and digital releases reaching Beatport and SoundCloud. I’ve shared stages with artists like Francesco del Garda, Petre Inspirescu, Steve Bug, Omar, and Jay Bliss, expanding my artistic ties beyond my borders. Today I direct ALMA, an educational space that trains DJs and producers, and I lead Pillan Music, an independent label with its own artistic and spiritual identity. I keep three core projects—Rodrigo Valdivia, Sokolov, and Área 51—active and work on Musicalma, a broader universe that fuses music, astrology, numerology, and consciousness into a singular aesthetic experience.
