Rupert Jaud

Hi, I’m Rupert Jaud, a freelance sound designer with over a decade of experience crafting immersive, interactive and narrative audio. I specialize in spatial sound, environmental worldbuilding, and interactive audio systems, and I collaborate closely with developers to shape XR projects, installations, and spatial storytelling.

I design environmental audio systems with spatial behavior, variations, and context-aware responses, and I implement audio in game engines (Unreal Engine and Unity). My background includes a Master’s in Composition and Theory of Sound Design from ZHdK and a BA in Applied Theatre Studies from Justus Liebig University Giessen, plus formal AV media design training at Bavarian Broadcasting. When I’m not working, I enjoy DIY projects, music, cinema, theatre, and museums.
