My name is Sae Mee Kim, and I am currently a newscast director at WCIA 3, the most watched station in Central Illinois. I've been thriving in media production ever since high school to present days, whether it be through videography, editing, sound designing, photography, and directing. I have various experience in different media forms. For example, I produced and edited for a college promotional video; I polished the interview audio and video of Serge Toubiana for my film professor; I sound designed a short film; I designed a sound for a graduating dance student for one of their performance; I produced and edited my own podcast/radio story during my internship at PBS Wisconsin; and I was the main editor for WCIA 3's political show called Capitol Connection, which aired on TV and published as a web article and a podcast online. I now direct live newscasts and a lifestyle show at a broadcast station. I got to experience most of my freelance work in media through my college professors as they trusted my skills and recommended me to my clients. I have never failed to accomplish my freelance work on-time with completion due to my strong dedication and passion for storytelling through media. I am a quick learner when it comes to learning a new technology, environment, form, or role. I am also active on social media (Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.) outside of work as I enjoy learning what's on trend, while editing and posting my own personal photos and reels on my social media accounts. My goal is to bring each unique stories out to the world with the power and creativeness of media production. In the future, I hope to create my own films that convey diverse stories to communicate and connect globally.
