I’m a documentary editor with a penchant for character-driven stories, found ephemera, and ferris wheels. I revel in that space where two things can be true– our sameness and our differences, our goodness, our evils. Documentary film is a playground in which to explore those nuances, to climb inside of other people’s lives and expand awareness, reverence, and gratitude; to turn tenderness into a salve for a better world. I can work from creative briefs, scripts, storyboards, or a mountain footage and a dream. I find the pulse of a story and bring it to life with music, pacing, and heart. My goal is to often make people cry, because emotion is impactful, and if a film moves even just one person, it can have a ripple effect on the world.
