Katja’s Place is an in-home occupational therapy practice supporting children and their families. The brief was to create a brand that felt warm and welcoming without tipping into the overly childish look common in the paediatric space. It needed to reassure parents with a sense of professionalism and calm, while still feeling personal and approachable.
I developed a complete brand identity built around a custom wordmark paired with an organic motif that works on two levels: read it one way and it’s a leaf, a nod to growth and care; read it another and it’s an open hand, a fitting touch for a practice built on hands-on therapy. That dual meaning became the heart of the identity, capturing both the nurturing and the practical sides of the work.
The system was designed to flex across every touchpoint, from social and digital assets through to printed collateral, so the practice could present consistently as it grows. At the centre of the palette sits Denim, a grounded and trustworthy blue that anchors the brand and carries the headers, footers and key interface elements. Bay Leaf green and Coral bring energy and approachability as accents, while soft Linen, Pearl and Jungle Mist neutrals keep layouts feeling light and open. Lighter and darker shades were built in to maintain accessible contrast wherever colours pair up.
For type, I chose Albert Sans, a modern geometric sans-serif that reads as clean and professional while keeping a friendly edge. A clear hierarchy across ExtraBold, Bold and Regular weights keeps everything legible across screen and print.
The full system was documented in a brand guidelines deck so the practice has a single reference for any future material, alongside a suite of business cards in both staff and generic formats.
